    Social Media Intern

    Experience Grand Rapids, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Kent County is seeking a Social Media Intern to assist with social content creation and general marketing team support.


    • Writing and creating social content to support the marketing brand messages
    • Scheduling content for our social channels
    • Monitoring of all social media channels
    • Assisting with social media engagement and analytics
    • Assist with communications to project team members and community representatives
    • Assist with package delivery to local stakeholders
    • Aid the Marketing Team as needed  
    • Attend area events as a representative of Experience GR


    • Social Media Skills- experienced in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, YouTube, SnapChat
    • Excellent communication skills, especially written; verbal skills a bonus
    • Understanding of marketing, branding, tourism, social media, website analytics, and content marketing
    • Enthusiasm about Grand Rapids as a destination
    • Self-starter, ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
    • Reliable team player
    • Multi-tasker
    • Customer Service/ Professionalism
    • Creative input; positive project approach
    • Experienced in Microsoft Office programs- Advanced in Word, Excel
    • Ability to quickly learn position-specific programs


    • Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible schedules a plus)
    • Possible evening/weekend on-call dates for some events and social monitoring
