Grand Rapids is pulling out all the stops to assure an incredible experience!

Quilt Competition

2015 Young Textile Art Challenge is a juried and displayed challenge that is open to all textile artists and art students, 18-30 years of age as of June 6, 2015. The Challenge will be on display at AQS QuiltWeek.

Cash prizes will be awarded and will include a "Viewer's Choice" award which will be determined by attendee vote. Be sure to cast your vote!

DeVos Place Convention Center

The AQS QuiltWeek will be held at the DeVos Place Convention Center in downtown Grand Rapids. This magnificent facility is pillar free giving AQS a wide open space to display hundreds of quilts and feature a huge merchant mall. The public is welcome to attend this show of fiber art at the DeVos Place Convention Center.

Restaurant Week Grand Rapids is in full swing during AQS! More than 30 downtown restaurants are offering creative three-course meals for just $28 and some are offering two complete meals for $28. It's a great way to sample the fresh, farm-to-table cuisine that has made Grand Rapids a culinary destination. Grand Rapids Public Museum--The Museum will be open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Tuesday; and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday through Saturday during QuiltWeek 2015.

A Scrappy Quilt Soiree will be held Thursday, August 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. and features hors d'oeuvres, wine and quilts! The highlight of the event will be a special presentation by Edyta Sitar, renowned designer and quilter about scrappy quilts. See historic quilts from the GRPM Collections on display for this event only. Tickets are $20 and include presentation and appetizers. Cash bar available. Purchase tickets in advance by clicking here. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

Gerald R Ford Museum allows you to experience America's most entertaining presidential museum. Attend a White House State Dinner, step inside the Oval Office and see the original Watergate burglar tools. Visitors can also see President Ford's and First Lady, Betty Ford's burial site. The museum will be celebrating Gerald Ford's 100th Birthday.

Grand Rapids Art Museum features a collection that spans Renaissance to Modern Art, with particular strength in European and American 19th and 20th century painting and sculpture. Changing exhibitions feature local, national and international artists.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is a 132-acre attraction located 10 minutes east of Grand Rapids and features the most comprehensive outdoor sculpture collection in the Midwest, indoor and outdoor gardens, largest tropical conservatory in the state, guided tram tour and a café. Opening in June, 2015, the Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden is designed in one of the most revered and deeply appreciated international garden styles. Tranquility, simplicity and beauty are the very essence of the 8-acre Japanese garden.
