Grand Rapids Public Museum Announces 2013 Night at Your Museum Event
Grand Rapids, MI - The Grand Rapids Public Museum's most popular annual event, Night at Your Museum, is back for another year of fun! Join the GRPM on Friday, December 27 as the Museum comes alive with characters from the Civil War, medieval knights, and more! The fun starts at 6 p.m. and continues until 9 p.m.
Night at Your Museum guests will receive a souvenir flashlight and honorary security guard badge upon admittance to the dimly-lit museum. Visitors then take part of the drama that unfolds throughout the museum as exhibition characters come to life. Watch dueling medieval knights, ceremonial dances performed by Native Americans, and skirmishes reenacted by Civil War soldiers. The Spillman Carousel whirls to life throughout the evening. Guest can also catch one of the five Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ concerts performed during the event.
GRPM Director of Marketing and PR, Kate Moore, calls the program, "One of the best family events in the Grand Rapids area," and encourages anyone with family in town for the holiday season to consider making Night at Your Museum part of their holiday plans.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 15, 2013. The cost is $20 per person, which includes dinner. All proceeds from the event benefit the programs and exhibitions at the GRPM. For additional information or to order tickets, please visit www.grpm.org or call 616.456.3977. Please note that this event often sells out, so order tickets early.
This year, guests can also have Dinner with the Queen! Starting at 5 p.m., this unique prequel to the night's main event gives visitors the chance to learn about castle life and what it takes to be a Knight of the Realm. Tickets for Dinner with the Queen are $35, and include dinner and admission to the Night at Your Museum program.
Parking is available for $10 in the Museum ramp, and this year you may pre-pay for parking until December 15th at 5 p.m. Parking passes can be purchased at grpm.org. This will guarantee your space. Please remember, parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and fill quickly.
The event is generously supported by Noodles and Company and Pepsi Co.
