New Year’s Eve in Grand Rapids is always fun, often cold, and never disappoints. There are events galore, for both the young and the young-at-heart, so it’s easy to find a New Year’s celebration that’s just right for you.

Grand Rapids Beer Tours (Dec. 31)
Kick New Year’s Eve off with a special craft beer tour led by the knowledgeable guides at Grand Rapids Beer Tours. They’re offering 4 tours on New Year’s Eve, two beginning just before lunchtime and two that start later in the afternoon. All of the NYE tours include transportation, 12 samples of beer and a private brewery tour.
- 11AM – 2:30PM. Visit Perrin Brewing Company, The Mitten Brewing Company and Harmony Hall on this tour. ($50)
- 11:30AM – 3PM. On this tour, you’ll stop by Harmony Brewing Company, Elk Brewing and the B.O.B.'s Brewery. ($50)
- 3:00PM - 6:30PM. This tour takes you to Brewery Vivant, HopCat and the B.O.B.'s Brewery, and includes a special of ½-off the price of HopCat’s delicious burgers while you’re there. ($60)
- 3:30PM – 7PM. You’ll hit Founders Brewing Company, Harmony Hall and The Mitten Brewing Company on this afternoon tour. ($60)

Dance the night away at the Amway Grand Plaza, where you’ll find 3 ballroom parties for your dancing pleasure! You can swing along to country tunes in the Pantlind Ballroom, boogie to the music of the 70's & 80's in the Imperial Ballroom, or get your groove on to Top 40 hits the Ambassador Ballroom. Advance tickets are $45 and tickets purchased on December 31 are $60. You can exchange your ticket for a wristband in the Plaza Essentials gift shop on New Year’s Eve (main lobby of the Amway Grand Plaza) and you’ll be able to celebrate at all 3 parties!

For a taste of New Orleans right here in GR, check out the Mardi Gras-themed party at the JW on New Year’s Eve. They’ll be recreating their own luxurious version of Bourbon Street, including scrumptious Louisiana-style food, like Shrimp, Chicken and Andouille sausage Jambalaya and tasty beignets—as well as exciting entertainment, like a snake charmer, contortionist, and juggler!
The JW Marriott is also offering an overnight package, which includes a night at the JW, tickets to the parties for 2 adults, valet parking, late checkout (2PM), and valet parking. Click here for more info or to reserve the NYE package.

Another New Year’s Eve party will be happening a few miles north in the Landing Lounge at Riverfront Hotel. DJ MattB will be playing cutting edge genres, sub genres and tracks from 9PM – 2AM. You can dance, hit their Late Nite Taco Bar (11pm - 1am), and enjoy a champagne toast. Reservations are required and cost $20 per person. Call 616-363-9001 to reserve your spot.

The 8th annual Subway HOT New Year’s Eve Party will take place on Grandville Ave. and Cherry this year, just north of Founders Brewing. Tons of talent will be performing, including headliners Tryon, Five Knives, Kevin Rudolf and Carolina Liar, and GR’s Big Talent contest winner, Ja’Leeyna Dooley.
The celebration starts at 7PM and goes until midnight, when the lighted ball drops to mark the countdown to 2016. Stave off the cold with hot chocolate and coffee, which you’ll find inside the warming tent throughout the night. Adults 21 and older can also purchase an adult beverage in the beer tent.
Celebrate like it’s 1986 at one of two seatings and shows offered at SpeakEZ Lounge. You’ll enjoy a 1980’s inspired 3-course menu and listen to Scott Patrick Bell and Friends perform hits from the 80s.
The first seating is from 5:00 – 6:30pm ($35 per person) and includes entertainment, the 3-Course Meal, and a table reservation for 2 hours. The second seating is from 7:00 – 9:00pm. For $55 per person, you get the entertainment, 3-Course Meal, a midnight champagne toast, and a table reservation for the duration of the evening!
