Whether you are actively planning a wedding or hope to be soon, we’ve gathered some great venues for you to consider when it’s time to walk down the aisle along with advice from the pros on how to enjoy your special day.
Railside Golf Club located in Byron Center offers a beautiful venue, excellent service, and food created by their own Executive Chef for up to 280 guests. The full-service reception and ceremony site make it easier on the bride and groom by keeping planning simple including private food tastings to help select the perfect menu.

“Having all food and beverage needs fulfilled on site makes it easy for us to handle coordinating the needs for the bride and groom on their ‘big day’,” said Donna Dokl, event coordinator for Railside Golf Club. “Our goal is to allow the bridge and groom to slow down and fully enjoy their special day.”
For those seeking something off the beaten path, Downtown Market might be the place for you. Sarah Tupper, private events manager for Downtown Market, said they offer a customized approach to events hosting ceremonies in their greenhouse and receptions in their banquet space.
“Downtown Market can seat up to 100 in our greenhouse and about 150-170 comfortably in our banquet space,” Tupper said. “We house dozens of small, local businesses so when you host your event here, you’re really becoming involved in a larger community focused on supporting local.”
Downtown Market offers a wide variety of catering options organized with each individual client and an in-house beverage program focused on local craft brews and unique spirits. The greenhouse is also available for smaller receptions and rehearsal dinners.
Tupper added your wedding day should be a stress-free celebration with your closest family and friends.
“It's a party that will be remembered forever,” Tupper said. “And here at the Downtown Market, we really take that seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.”
Offering two separate event facilities, three different outside garden areas for wedding ceremonies and six different event rooms, English Hills Country Club and Terrace can accommodate parties ranging in size from 40 to 450.
“We pride ourselves on the very best service from the minute you contact us to the minute your event is finished,” said David Gregware, event and sales manager for English Hills Country Club and Terrace. “We offer award winning food, over 30 different entree options and bar packages from house liquor to premium plus liquor, beer, and wine.”

Need a larger venue? Frederik Meijer Gardens can accommodate up to 1,000 when utilizing the entire building for the ultimate exclusive event. For those interested in slightly smaller affairs, they are happy to accommodate that too.
“Our Grand Atrium can comfortably seat 400 with plenty of room for a dance floor romantically placed under the Chihuly Chandelier,” said Annemarie Smartz, hospitality sales manager for Frederik Meijer Gardens. “We also offer rentals of the greenhouses for a true garden experience and hold wedding ceremonies outdoors including the new Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden and the Sculpture Park Waterfall.”

How to make the day the best for you? Smartz offers these final words of wisdom.
“Stay true to your dream wedding that you’ve always wanted and let the event coordinators make that dream come true.”
