Another weekend of gorgeous weather is planned. Here are some things to check out when you visit Grand Rapids this weekend:

  • T Rex Music Festival: Another weekend, another awesome downtown music festival. The Pyramid Scheme is holding its first annual outdoor musical festival and you will want to be there to enjoy great bands, food and beer. They are closing the streets down in front of the bar and taking the party outside. This is a 21 and older festival beginning at 2:30 pm with general admission tickets running you $20. Check out the Pyramid Scheme's website for details.
  • Reeds Lake Clothesline Art Festival: If you want to check out a part of Grand Rapids that is postcard-picture perfect, you must check out Reeds Lake. There are many beautiful lakes scattered throughout the Grand Rapids area, but few have a large park where the public can enjoy the same views as the lake residents. And the yearly art show that takes place throughout John Collins Park is the perfect reason to head over. While you are there dine overlooking the lake at Rose's. Be prepared for a long wait to eat, but thankfully you have plenty of art of look at while you do. The festival is from 9-5 on Saturday, June 16th and all the details can be found at the Grand Valley Artists website.
  • Field of Greens Festival: Blandford Nature Center is a hidden gem that many locals don't even know about. An outdoor learning center committed to educating the community about stewarding our environment, it is a family favorite of ours. This weekend, Blandford is partnering with SiTE: Lab to bring art to the woods! Saturday is a little more family focused, but don't hesitate to bring the kids out on Friday night as well for food, drinks, live music, horse-drawn wagon rides, and art sprinkled throughout the woods. Admission is free. Food, drink and wagon rides have a fee. The event is Friday 5 to 11PM and Saturday from noon to 5PM. Check out the BNC site for details.
  • Fathers Day at Centennial Country Club: Celebrate Dad with a round of golf and some BBQ. Grab dad and head out to Centennial Country Club for 9 holes of golf (cart included), a beer, and a BBQ sandwich with a side of slaw all for only $20. Bobby Js, the onsite restaurant, has recently opened and makes amazing BBQ in their onsite smoker. You will need a tee time so call ahead to 616-954-0444. For more information visit the Centennial Country Club website.
