Whew! It is going to be a HOT holiday weekend. But thankfully it will also be a long one. So enjoy all three days to their fullest. Here are some of the great things happening around town.
- Friday nights at the GRAM: Grand Rapids has a state of the art amazing art museum. And every Friday night you can head down to the Grand Rapids Art Museum for art, music, a cash bar and convesation with art enthusiasts. Friday, May 25th, Chris Stoffel Overvoorde, a GRAM Docent and Professor Emeritus of Art at Calvin College will be sharing starting at 7 pm. Music, drinks and socializing starts at 5 pm. - Caberet: Broadway musical geeks rejoice. One of the most beloved musicals is at one of Grand Rapids most unique theatres. The circle theater is performed in the round with the audience seated around the actors. And they are kicking off their 60th Anniversary season with Cabaret. Tickets are $25 for shows on Friday and Saturday night at 7:30. See the Circle Theatre website to purchase tickets.
- West Michigan Whitecaps: We have given you a few reasons to check out the Whitecaps before. This Sunday you will have your chance to check out Family Day at the West Michigan Whitecaps. Play catch on the field and get autographs from the players before the game. And then kids 12 and under can run the bases after the game. And don’t forget the first 1000 kids eat free. What a great affordable family outing! Get tickets at the Whitecaps website.
- Jenison Memorial Day Parade: I love a good parade. And one that honors the men and women who fight for our country is even better. Head over to the west part of the city and check out the Jenison Memorial Day Parade. Pull up a chair anywhere along the parade route which goes from Baldwin St. from 20th Ave to Cottonwood Dr. The parade begins at 9 am.
Wear lots of sunscreen, drink lots of water and have a GREAT holiday weekend.
