UICA: Future Talk (Grades 7-12)

How do artists utilize social, digital, and new media to communicate and express their voice in contemporary society? Students will help to create an installation that fosters interaction between artists and viewers. This installation will physically represent our voice, connections, and the impact of our interactions on social media platforms. Participants will leave with an increased awareness of how the expression of their unique voice is perceived, valued and altered through interaction on social networks. Ultimately, we will examine how these interactions affect contemporary artists who market their work largely online and through social networks.
