Voting with a Clear Conscience

Presented by Fr. John Geaney, CSP
This program will be live streamed at catholicinformationcente.org
The role of the Church in an election year is to encourage people to vote. It is not the Church’s role to tell citizens for whom they should vote. With deep divisions and global unrest, this election year will be challenging to navigate. Fr. Geaney will examine how the Church looks at Church-State relations, and the role conscience plays in determining how a Catholic Christian goes about deciding how to vote when a politician’s stand on an issue is contrary to the moral imperatives of the Catholic Church. The book, Voting and Holiness: Catholic Perspectives on Political Participation will be an important part of the discussion. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the CIC.
