Touring Acts

Back by popular demand, Glenn Bulthuis and the Tonedeafs perform the Music of the Beatles at Van Singel Fine Arts Center. April 24.

Christian rock band Casting Crowns comes to Van Andel Arena with special guests Laura Story and For King & Country. May 1.

Country rocker Brantley Gilbert brings his "Let It Ride Tour" to Van Andel Arena, with special guests Thomas Rhett and Eric Paslay. May 8.

Grammy Award-winner Anthony Hamilton shares his smooth R&B sound at DeVos Performance Hall, with special guest Avery Sunshine. June 8.

Multiplatinum recording artist and Super Bowl halftime sensation Bruno Mars comes to Van Andel Arena with his "Moonshine Jungle Tour" June 17.

Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens bring 30 of the world's finest music acts to a beautiful outdoor setting. From Santana on June 1 to Sheryl Crow on September 7, there's something for every musical taste.

MusicGrand Rapids Songwriters Alliance presents its 10th Anniversary Songwriters Showcase featuring a mix of 20 fledgling and veteran singer-songwriters from West Michigan. May 9.

Founders Brewing Company hosts live local music in its taproom on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Upcoming shows include the 17th Annual Bob Dylan Tribute (May 17).

Gun Lake LIVE 2014 features outdoor concerts in a beautiful lakeshore pavilion, Wednesdays from May 28 - August 27.

Festival of the Arts offers all sorts of music on several stages throughout the downtown area - plus dance, theatre, visual arts, kids' activities and food from across the globe. June 6-8.

The Local First Street Party features local music, beer, wine and food. Come join 10,000 of your soon-to-be closest friends in front of downtown's Bella Vita Restaurant, June 7.

The B-93 Birthday Bash welcomes Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, Colt Ford, Lucy Hale, Brett Eldredge, Chase Rice, Parmalee and more to an outdoor stage 30 minutes from Grand Rapids. Free admission with paid parking! June 7-8.

Founders Fest 2014 is a celebration of local beer and lively music held on the streets outside Founders Brewing Company. Musical acts include Lettuce Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Break Science, The Budos Band, The Giving Tree Band and more. June 21.

Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concerts feature popular local acts in a variety of genres. Sit in the grandstand or bring your own chair or blanket to sit on the Riverwalk Green. Free, Thursday nights from June 12 - August 22.

Symphonic Bliss

Calvin College offers free admission to the Calvin College Chamber Winds Concert featuring performances by student trios, quartets and quintets, plus a larger chamber ensemble, April 22.

Grand Rapids Symphony hosts Brilliant Beethoven, a Gilmore Festival Concert, featuring an opera overture, a robust piano concerto, and the composer's dance-like 7th symphony. May 2-3.

The Bach Chorale of Grand Rapids Spring Concert includes works by Bach, Rheinberger, Britten and Boccherini. May 4.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center closes its season with Music From Three Centuries, featuring works by Beethoven, Brahms and Schuman, plus a US premiere by Zhou Long. May 8.

The world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra brings its big-band sound to DeVos Performance Hall in conjunction with Grand Rapids Symphony. May 16-18.


Big Band

The West Michigan Jazz Society presents a Monday Night Jazz Series at the B.O.B. in downtown GR. April 21.

Founders Brewing Co., named the world's third best brewery, serves up live local music and awesome beer. Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays starting at 9:30 pm.

Rockwell-Republic presents Monday night jazz performances accompanied by luscious drink specials.

See what strikes your musical fancy at The Intersection, GR's most enduring live music club. The Intersection hosts more than 40 performers in diverse genres from February through April.

Check out the lineup of independent acts at The Pyramid Scheme nightclub and bar in downtown GR. The Pyramid also hosts pinball tournaments and board game nights.

Grand Rapids Ballet presents MOVEMEDIA II (April 25-27), contemporary dance programs from today's most innovative choreographers.

Wizard of OzBroadway Grand Rapids presents Andrew Lloyd Weber's Wizard of Oz, a new musical adaptation of the classic tale. April 22-27.

Circle Theatre presents Jesus Christ Superstar, the driving, majestic rock opera that dramatizes Christ's final days. May 8-24.

Opera Grand Rapids presents Madama Butterfly, Puccini's heartbreaking love story that is one of the most beloved operas of all time. May 9-10.
