      <title>Actors' Theatre presents: Looking for Normal</title>
      <link>http://www.experiencegr.com//events/index.cfm?#event31089</link>
      <description>Downtown, Theatre/Performing Arts &amp;#8211; 05/23/2013 - 06/01/2013 &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
Looking for Normal by Jane Anderson. Roy and Irma have been married for twenty-five years. They have two children.  Roy works in tractor plant in the heartland and both are active in church and their community. When Roy and Irma see their pastor for a marriage counseling session, though, Roy reveals that he's a woman trapped in a man's body and wants an operation to correct the situation. Looking for Normal is a powerful, yet often funny play about an individual's journey to personal truth, the cost of that journey on those he loves, and the hope that transformation brings. &#xD;

      <title>Heather McGill: Oblique Angle</title>
      <link>http://www.experiencegr.com//events/index.cfm?#event32502</link>
      <description>Art, Downtown, Exhibitions &amp;#8211; 04/26/2013 - 07/14/2013 &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
&amp;nbsp;Inspired by Detroit's spirit of technological innovation, Heather McGill's current series of highly patterned wall sculptures and drawings applies the materials of industry to modern art. One of the dynamic aspects of her work is her use of interference paints, which create color-shifting illusions. The paint's effect is activated when the viewer moves to view the object at an oblique angle, suggesting a shift in our perceptual reality. &#xD;
