Visitors to the Grand Rapids Public Museum can delve into the secrets of the "inland seas" at the Great Lakes Shipwrecks: Storms and Stories exhibit on the Museum's 3rd floor. Guests to the exhibit will learn how bad weather, bad decisions, bad design and bad luck can end in tragedy. They will see recovered artifacts and learn the personal stories of crews and loved ones on such memorable ships as Le Griffon, the Phoenix, the Carl D. Bradley and the Edmund Fitzgerald. Very real concepts like the "gales of November" are explored along with stories of survival and heroism. Great Lakes Shipwrecks: Storms and Stories is free with general admission.
