Each year, thousands of students and instructors gather in the DeVos Place convention center and DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids for the annual Michigan Music Conference.

For many students, it is the highlight of their year to be surrounded by so much creativity in such a prestigious venue.

“I'm excited to perform at DeVos Performance Hall simply because it fits so many people. It's like your dream, you know?” attendee Jhane Perdue said. “When you're a singer, you dream to sing in front of all these people, and you're finally here and you get to do it. It's amazing. It's an amazing experience.”

State Honors Choir Director Mandy Mikita Scott said she sees that from many students.

“The students are really excited to perform at Devos Performance Hall,” she said. “And throughout the weekend, if you look at Devos stage, you'll get honors choirs, honors bands, honors orchestras—really the best of the best in the state of Michigan getting to perform in one of the best venues in the state.”
