Grand Rapids loves sports. Any kind of sport, from fishing tournaments and Little League games to bowling and pro baseball.
We were chosen to host the very first State Games of Michigan in 2010, an Olympic-style event featuring 3,500 in-state athletes competing in 15 events at 15 venues across the region. Each May, we garner national attention for our River Bank Run, the nation's largest 25K road race. Our Grand Rapids Griffins (hockey) and West Michigan Whitecaps (baseball) generate excitement and terrific attendance, season after season.
Not only will you be thrilled by the level of media interest and spectator support for your sporting event - you'll love the service and attention you receive from your chosen venue(s):
Sports groups get an extra edge when they meet in Grand Rapids - the assistance of the West Michigan Sports Commission.
