Looking East, Facing West: The World of Zhang Huan presents sculpture, paintings and photographs from one of today's most prodigious and insightful artists. At Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park from May 25 to August 25.

The Improvisational Quilts of Susan Allen Hunter showcases the work of an African-American woman whose quilts reflect rural Alabama life from the 1930s to the 1970s. At Grand Rapids Art Museum through August 31.

Grand Rapids Art Museum Selects ArtPrize 2012: Encore! - a collection of significant works from last year's event. It's a great introduction (or remembrance) of the world's richest, most radically open art competition. Through October 6.

The Jansma Print Collection: Five Centuries of Masterpieces is a celebration of art inspired by Christian faith and Biblical themes. At Grand Rapids Art Museum through September 1.

Performing Arts

Looking for Normal is a powerful yet often funny play about a 25-year married couple dealing with the husband's sudden claim that he's a woman trapped in man's body. At Actors' Theatre May 23 - June 1.

Broadway Grand Rapids presents Billy Elliott, The Musical - a Tony-winning sensation about a boy who follows his dream to dance ... and changes his whole community in the process. June 11-16.

Legally Blonde The Musical at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre is the straight-from-Broadway, song-filled version of the smash-hit movie. May 31 - June 16.

Wait Until Dark at Circle Theatre is a thrillingly suspenseful play about a blind woman who turns the tables on three thugs who invade her apartment. June 6-22.
