‘Tis the season for Ice Skating at Rosa Parks Circle - the outdoor rink in the heart of downtown. Admission is just $1 for kids 17 and under, $2 for everyone else - and skate rentals are free with a photo ID. 

Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park features 300,000 lights, 40+ international trees and displays, horse-drawn carriage rides, a magical railway garden, and more. November 25 - January 4.

The Nite Lites Drive-Thru Christmas Display is Michigan's largest holiday light display. Open 6 pm to 9pm at Fifth Third Ballpark, November 27 - January 4.

New Year's Eve

Hot New Year's Eve is the city's massive outdoor celebration, held in downtown's Calder Plaza. The event features four free concerts - Fire Alarm, The Outer Vibe, Dyllan Murray and Cobra Starship - plus a lighted ball drop. It all starts off with the lighting of the Hot New Year's Eve Ball at 7 pm.

Get Groovy at the JW Marriott is a 1970s dance party complete with funky band and groovy DJ. Hustle under the disco ball all night long! The Marriott is offering a special hotel package if you'd like to overnight it.

The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel offers a special hotel package that includes access to three Grand Plaza parties as well as the JW Marriott dance party.

The Riverfront Hotel - Grand Rapids offers a New Year's Eve hotel package including an overnight stay, dinner and live entertainment.

New Year's Eve at Founders Brewing Company features live music from The Crane Wives, Possessed by Paul James and Joseph Huber. And oh yeah, lots of incredible beer.

New Year's Early Eve at Grand Rapids Children's Museum lets the young ones celebrate before you go out for the evening. December 31 from 6 pm - 8 pm.

New Year's Eve at GRAM offers a late-night stroll through the galleries and a cash bar. Open until 11 pm, after which you can step outside to watch the ball drop.

The Grand Rapids Griffins' 18th Annual New Year's Eve Celebration includes a hockey battle against the Rockford IceHogs plus a post-game indoor fireworks show and open skate.
