Take a Tour

There is so much to experience with the visual arts in Grand Rapids, reward yourself with a Calder day. Start with the master's masterpiece, La Grande Vitesse immediately in front of city hall. Take a quick ride on the di Suvero sculpture nearby and then head over to the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Go to the third floor and enjoy Calder's delicate and whimsical mobiles. While there, enjoy works by artists inspired by Calder like Ellsworth Kelly and Karel Appel. Then, head out to Meijer Gardens, take a look at the sculpture exhibition in the galleries, then head out to the Calder in the park near the waterfall. Along the way enjoy the whole of the collection and the variety of landscape settings.
