GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 3, 2016 - Circle Theatre, Grand Rapids’ go-to destination for exceptional theatrical arts in an intimate setting, has announced their 2017 season.  2017 celebrates Circle’s 65th year of producing plays and musicals for West Michigan audiences. The reveal of upcoming performances took place at the Annual Season Party inside the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Aquinas College on Sunday, September 11.


Season Kickoff: Anything Goes in Concert (rated PG), April 21 - this classic musical concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. This special event will include multiple audience engagement activities, a silent auction inspired by the show and a cash bar featuring wine and Michigan craft beer.


Main Stage Season: The Addams Family - the 2017 Audience Choice Musical (rated PG), Brighton Beach Memoirs - a comedic play (rated PG-13),  A Chorus Line - a musical (rated PG-13), To Kill a Mockingbird - the 2017 Audience Choice Play (rated PG-13), the Grand Rapids Premier of It Shoulda Been You - a musical comedy (rated PG-13) and The Last of the Dragons - a Magic Circle Family Show (rated G).


Summer Concert Series: Ladies Night: The Music Of Legendary Divas, California Dreamin’: Cool Cali Vibes Past & Present, Go Your Own Way: The Music Of Fleetwood Mac, Uptown Funk: The Best Of The Funkiest.


“We are so excited to present one of our most dynamic seasons to date with something for everyone. Circle Theatre’s 65th anniversary season includes outstanding, award-winning classics and innovative, contemporary pieces,” says Circle Theatre managing director, Lynne Brown-Tepper. “Hand-picked by our audience, the 2017 Summer Concert Series will feature some of the most loved artists of all time and our Magic Circle production presents a magical tale of intelligence and bravery that will make you re-think the classic fairytale premise.”


Performers interested in auditioning for the 65th Anniversary Season should block off March 3 & 4 (Musical, Play and Magic Circle Auditions) and March 10 & 11 (Summer Concert Series Auditions). Information concerning audition location and sign-ups will be available at by January, 2017.

For the third consecutive year, Circle Theatre audience members can continue to enjoy Michigan craft beer, wine, or soda during the Lobby Bar nights throughout the 2017 season. Lobby Bar dates are April 21, May 5, June 2, July 14, July 17, July 24, August 11, August 14, August 21 and September 8.
