ArtPrize, organizer of the eponymous international art competition today announced the official dates of Project 1 to be Sept. 7-Oct. 27, 2019.

Project 1 will be an immersive, multi-sited temporary public art exhibition consisting primarily of works by 3-5 commissioned artists. The exhibition will occupy multiple outdoor sites downtown and in select neighborhood locations. The seven week run will be punctuated by a series of community events, performances, volunteer opportunities, education programs and other activities.

The team at ArtPrize also announced six internationally renowned curators who will assist ArtPrize Artistic Director Kevin Buist in selecting Project 1 artists. For more information about this process and the curatorial advisory committee, see the full press release, “ArtPrize Announces Project 1 Curatorial Advisory Committee and Dates.”

The ArtPrize organization revealed in June that following its tenth edition the ArtPrize competition would move to a biennial schedule to make way for Project 1, a new event format that will continue to draw public attention and international acclaim. More exciting news and announcements regarding Project 1 programming, participating artists and more will be unveiled in early 2019.
