As the COVID-19 pandemic raged on, Experience Grand Rapids invited leisure travelers to “Dream Grand” and look forward to a Grand Rapids/Kent County getaway whenever restrictions ended. Well, that day has come – and now we’re working hard to help travelers realize their dreams for a fun-filled summer.

Virtually every day brings an announcement of a new or returning festival, concert, exhibit or activity. (Have you heard that ArtPrize is back, Sept. 16-Oct. 3?) We maintain the Events Calendar at ExperienceGR.com to keep track of all the news, and provide visitors (and residents) with an easy-to-use resource for finding fun things to do. (More than 200 things to do in the next 30 days alone!) It’s the most comprehensive and most visited events calendar in West Michigan  – and it’s about to get even better, with the launch of a new and improved ExperienceGR.com later this summer.

Our monthly Travel Link newsletter showcases the area’s hottest happenings – and it’s delivered straight to subscribers’ email inboxes. (Have you signed up for it?) July’s edition highlighted 4th of July festivities, alcohol-friendly city sidewalks, outdoor concerts and more.

Craft Pass GR – which we launched last year as a way to boost business for local craft beverage producers struggling under pandemic restrictions – is back this summer. From June 29-Oct. 31, adults can use a digital pass to check in to at least six participating breweries, cideries, distilleries and meaderies and earn a FREE gift.

All of this is on top of the other promotional vehicles we’re employing to reach out and engage potential visitors – including billboards, magazine ads, social media sites and a 12-week regional TV campaign featuring GR’s very own Pure Michigan commercial (in partnership with Pure Michigan). We anticipate a huge influx of visitors this summer – and a much-needed infusion of revenue for local businesses and communities!
