Music at ArtPrize

Well it’s here and I don’t have to tell you that!  ArtPrize, the international art competition recognized as “the most attended public art event on the planet” according to The Art Newspaper, hits Grand Rapids for the 8th year from September 21 - October 9.

Visitors from all over will come see art in many, many, different forms and I’m thrilled to say this year we will make sure MUSIC is at the center of it all!  And you know how I know that? Because literally music will be performed throughout the entire competition on the Blue Pedestrian Bridge right in the CENTER of our city!

Song Competition

AMI LogoArtPrize has always featured a song competition where musicians can enter an original song for the opportunity to win $1,000 public vote for best song as well as $1,000 juror vote from folks in the music industry.  We will keep with that contest this year but we have a new exciting addition!  ArtPrize has teamed with AMI Entertainment which is a jukebox company with offices located right here in Grand Rapids to create JukeBox Listening Stations throughout downtown to listen to the songs entered in the competition!  The Jukeboxes are set to “Free Play” and vote codes are attached to each song.

Jukebox locations:

ArtPrize HUB
41 Sheldon Blvd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Downtown Courtyard by Marriott
11 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

The B.O.B.
20 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

235 Louis St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

55 Monroe Ave NW

Also a good way to hear these originals songs are stripped down acoustic sessions on the Blue Bridge!  Free performances by the artists entered into the song competition will be taking place every hour every day on the Blue Bridge.  So head on over to the Blue Bridge for these performances!

The ArtPrize Blue Bridge Music FestivalBlue Bridge Music Festival
