Hours*: Sunday to Monday: 11:30 AM-10 PM; Tuesday to Wednesday: 11:30 AM-Midnight; Thursday: 11:30 AM-9 PM;  Friday to Saturday: 11:30 AM-Midnight

Many of Experience Grand Rapids' followers recommended The Mitten Brewing Company. With traditional and unique flavor combinations like Hog Heaven and Thai Cobb, you have plenty of options to choose from. The Mitten also offers vegan cheese and “meats” like vegan pepperoni. They also offer gluten-free crust for a slight upcharge.

If you’re having a difficult time deciding, you can order a pizza flight to go with your beer flight. Choose up to six specialty pizzas, and they’ll come out on a large wooden paddle, big enough to feed about four people. The Mitten is a must for beer and pizza lovers alike.

We also heard a lot about Harmony Brewing Company, which also serves freshly-brewed beer and handcrafted pizza. Its first location, Harmony - Eastown, is situated in an abandoned post-prohibition liquor store. It became so popular, that the brewing company decided to open a second location, Harmony Hall, on Grand Rapids’ West Side in 2015.

Harmony’s 12-inch pies are wood-fired, and each location has different flavors to choose from. Try the popular Crispy Pig or Beer-B-Q, or for vegan eaters, try the Slide Whistle 2000, which has a rosemary white bean base topped with spinach, balsamic-marinated tomatoes, and shiitake “bacon.”
