It’s no secret that Grand Rapids is brimming with locations and opportunities to settle in with a well-crafted beverage. But, if you’re looking for some activity to shake up the routine, there's no reason you can’t have your favorite beverage and burn the calories too.
Below is a list of local events that help you bend, stretch, and namaste with your drink of choice alongside.
Pro Tip: Register for Perrin Brewery's Bend and Brew by purchasing tickets via Perrin's event page.

Perrin Brewery aptly named Bend and Brew combines their classic beers like the unbeatable Lil’ Griz or ever-refreshing Grapefruit IPA with an hour-long yoga session. $10 gets you one hour of yoga (put on by Twisted Hot Yoga) and of course, a pint of the eponymous brew. As with most of these events, pre-registration is recommended since spots tend to fill up quickly.

Squibb Coffee & Wine Bar
Located on vibrant Wealthy Street, Squibb Coffee & Wine Bar has more to offer than giant squid murals, a relaxed atmosphere, and amazing vanilla lattes. On the second Monday of every month, the coffee and wine bar closes early for Wine and Yoga where $15 is your gateway to an hour long yoga session and a well-deserved glass of wine, or $10 for yoga and equally well-deserved coffee or tea. Register beforehand either in person or by calling, and be prepared for some bending and twisting.
Elk Brewing’s two locations (in Comstock Park and in Grand Rapids) offers a yoga class called Get Bent with Kate which is worth a visit simply for the clever name. The yogi event occurs on Saturday mornings at Comstock Park and on Sunday mornings in Grand Rapids. A hour-long session costs $10 and includes a pint of Elk’s thirst quenching brews.
Fact: Happy Cat Cafe is Grand Rapids' first cat cafe!

Happy Cat Cafe
Do cat-cow poses alongside actual felines with Happy Cat Cafe’s weekly yoga program. Michigan’s first cat cafe (yes – first!) combines cats and yoga twice a month on Sundays through their Happy Cat Yoga program. Each 60-minute session costs $20 and includes a beverage followed by 30 minutes for participants to hang out with the cats. Register beforehand and bring your own mat. If you’re new to yoga, don’t worry! All skill levels are welcome.
The best part of the reoccurring program is that all the cats are available for adoption (and if you bring home a furry friend, your next visit is free).
Let’s limber up and get started!
