You don’t need to wait until summer to enjoy a fun swimcation – pack up the bathing suits, floaties and swim goggles and check in to a Grand Rapids hotel with a heated indoor pool … any time of the year!
Whether your kids want to spend spring break in the water or you’re seeking a poolside respite from your ordinary routine, you can find a Grand Rapids hotel to fit your budget, amenity and location preferences. Check out the list below – and note that some of these hotels are offering a free Culture Pass when you stay a second night in May.
Health and Safety Precautions
Michigan’s current COVID-19 restrictions limit capacity in pool areas to 30% of normal, so most hotels are asking guests to reserve pool time at the front desk, typically at check-in. See the listings below for the maximum capacity at each pool and remember that the capacity limits include all people in the pool area – swimmers and non-swimmers alike.
Also, keep in mind that pools are generally reserved for guests, and many hot tubs, whirlpools and steam rooms are closed due to the pandemic.
Hotel managers want you to know that they have instituted meticulous cleaning protocols to sanitize and disinfect pool areas between each group of guests and/or throughout the day. In return, they ask guests to observe state and hotel guidelines for COVID-19 prevention – including the use of face masks when not in the pool – and to please respect hotel staff that are required to enforce the rules.
Michigan’s current COVID-19 epidemic order is in effect through April 19, so guidelines may change if you’re planning a late-April staycation. You can always consult our Travel Updates page for the very latest information. And be sure to check our recommendations for spring break activities outside the pool.
