The inaugural event brings with it a full field of 144 players playing 72 holes during the four days of competition. And with a purse of $1,500,000, you can bet the competition will be fierce.
The LPGA, one of the longest-running women's professional sports associations in the world, has grown into a non-profit organization involved in every facet of golf. The LPGA Tour and the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals (T&CP) comprise the backbone of what has become the premier women's professional sports organization in the world today.
This is the first time in more than 10 years the LPGA has stopped in Michigan.

"The area has such passionate golf fans and with Meijer's commitment to giving back to their community, this tournament could not be a better fit for the LPGA."
Tickets are now available online: General admission weekly tickets cost $35 apiece; general admission daily tickets cost $15 apiece; and a limited number of upgraded daily reserved tickets cost $50 apiece. The upgraded ticket provides admission on a specified day to a premium viewing area on the 17th green and access to discounted food and beverages. Kids, ages 17 and under, will receive free admission with a ticketed adult.

The Meijer LPGA Classes needs over 600 volunteers to help in a wide variety of roles from assisting the media to being a walking scorer on the course.
"Volunteers are the heart and soul of the event," said Lesley Baker, tournament director of the Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft. "And you don't have to know or love golf to volunteer. The experience for our volunteers is priceless."
The volunteer fee is $55 and includes two official tournament golf shirts, tournament hat, a volunteer badge valid for week-long tournament access and parking, four weekly grounds tickets for guests of the volunteers choice, an invitation to the annual volunteer appreciation party, and meals and beverages during assigned shifts.
