The city of Grand Rapids is gearing up for its ninth-annual Restaurant Week GR (RWGR), which is a 12-day event dedicated to celebrating the city’s vibrant food scene.
Restaurant Week GR 2018 is bringing exciting new options for all palettes and taste buds from August 8-19.
Here’s what’s in store for Restaurant Week GR 2018:
Over 70 Participating Locations
Whether you’re looking for authentic cuisine from around the world, or unique takes on classics, this year’s Restaurant Week GR won’t lack options due to over 70 participating restaurants! Visit the RWGR page to view participating restaurants and their menus.

New Chef’s Choice Option
This year you can expect three different options and price points:
Two courses for $15 per person (lunch and dinner)
Two courses for $25 per person (dinner)
Chef’s Choice for over $25 per person (dinner)
RWGR’s new Chef’s Choice option allows restaurants to showcase their talent and culinary creativity. For foodies seeking a unique culinary experience, the Chef’s Choice option is for you.
“Customers are seeking creative, fun dishes. The Chef’s Choice option gives the restaurants the opportunity to deliver,” says Kate Lieto, Director of Marketing for Experience Grand Rapids.
In 2017, RWGR added the successful Lunch Option for participating restaurants. This year, restaurants can choose to offer a special menu for lunch, dinner, or for both meals.
“Restaurant Week GR is about enjoying great food and trying new restaurants. All of the options provide those opportunities at various price points,” says Lieto.

Search Menus Online
While visiting the RWGR page you’ll have access to all Restaurant Week GR menus. The page offers convenient filter settings that allow users to narrow down their specifications by menu options, dietary restrictions, neighborhoods, cuisine type, if the location accepts reservations, and if outdoor seating is available.
Supporting Local Students
While visiting RWGR participants, you’ll also be supporting students at the Grand Rapids Community College Secchia Institute for Culinary Education. For every Restaurant Week meal sold, $1 will be donated to the program’s scholarship fund.
Fact: Since 2010, RWGR has raised over $143,000 for the Grand Rapids Community College Secchia Institute for Culinary Education!
