TGIF! Looks like it is going to be another gorgeous weekend in Grand Rapids. Let's take a peek at what is going on around the city:

  • Fan of classic rock? You still have two weekends left to catch one of the laser light shows at the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium. Great rock music set to an amazing lights display. Through April 7th, head down to the planetarium on Saturday nights and you can listen to Pink Floyd at 9 pm or Radiohead at 10 pm. The planetarium is part of the Grand Rapids Public Museum and you can find more information about the shows at their website
  • Things are ramping up for Easter. You can always visit the bunny himself at Woodland Mall, but if you want a little more fun for the whole family, check out Eggsapalooza! Of course the Easter Bunny will be there, but there will also be and Easter egg hunt, Easter egg decorating, face painting, arts and crafts and a cook out. Some local "celebrities" will be there as well including Griff from the Griffins and Crash from the Whitecaps. All proceeds from the event go to an amazing local charity God's Kitchen.
  • Looking for a little more adult-geared fun? Well grab your hairspray and your acid washed jeans and head over to Mega 80s night at The Intersection on Saturday March 31st. Of course dressing the part is optional, but reliving your glory days is a must. At least throw your hair up in a side pony and put up your color to get in the spirit of things. The DJs spin all your favorite tunes from Madonna to Men at Work and you can dance the night away. There is a $10 cover and you must be 21 or over to get it.
  • Perhaps live music is more your style? There is a lot of it to be found around town and can usually be accompanied by some yummy eats. Check out Mangiamo, Ottawa Tavern, Blue Water Grill and One Trick Pony where the music starts at 8. At nine, you can check out River City Saloon, Mojo's, and Founders.
