Nancy Ruppert, CTA

Convention Development Manager
aka Investigator Fancy

Nancy investigates every possible lead, avenue and idea in her never-ending quest to bring more convention business to Kent County and fill the area’s expanding inventory of hotel rooms. That includes ferreting out connections between local community members and national associations as part of our Bring it to GR program, which is responsible for a significant share of the conventions we book each year.

Overseeing Bring it to GR has given Nancy a deep appreciation for the incredible level of collaboration and philanthropy in Grand Rapids. “We wouldn’t have the great city that we do without the people here giving back,” she says. (Those who give back by helping us book conventions are recognized as Hometown Champs.)

We wouldn’t have the great city that we do without the people here giving back.

Bio Bits:

  • Can spend hours wandering through Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park
  • Likes to travel to California and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
  • Loves being the mom of “three handsome, successful, fun boys”

This is Nancy’s second stint at Experience Grand Rapids – she served as Sales Manager from 1990-1996 before rejoining us in 1999 as Convention Development Manager. (Meeting planners, feel free to follow her lead and return to Grand Rapids again and again.)
