Donation & Sponsorship Requests

Please note: donation requests need to be submitted 8-12 weeks in advance as outlined below.

Experience Grand Rapids is the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Grand Rapids/Kent County. We are the only community resource devoted to marketing the destination brand by raising visitor awareness of the region’s product – i.e., its appeal as a tourism and convention destination. Our efforts produce millions of dollars in direct and indirect revenues and taxes that uplift the local community and economy.

The mission of Experience Grand Rapids is to create an exceptional community by sharing Grand Rapids with the world. What does that really mean? It means that we inspire tourism and conventions through short-term promotions, long-term marketing and sales strategies, and a focus on community developments that will impact the visitor experience.

Experience Grand Rapids is proud to be an active member in our community and does offer limited donation and sponsorship opportunities for programs and events that are in alignment with our mission, strategic priorities, and brand objectives. Experience Grand Rapids’ Sponsorship Committee reviews all donation and sponsorship requests on a monthly basis. For our Committee to respond in a timely manner, we require all requests are submitted 8 weeks in advance of the desired date. First-time requestors are recommended to submit 12+ weeks in advance of the desired date.

Please review the following to be sure your request meets our criteria.

We give preference to organizations that service Kent County and support our mission in attracting or impacting tourism in the Kent County region
We give preference to organizations that align with our values, commitment to diversity & inclusion and prohibitions against discrimination
Limit to one request a year
Only donation or sponsorship requests submitted through this online form will be considered

Experience Grand Rapids reserves the right to approve/deny requests based on the criteria above, but in general we do not support:

Capital Campaigns
Political Action Causes (PACs, political campaigns, etc.)
Marketing, Cause Marketing or Advertising
Organizations that discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, sex, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, or disability.
Movie, film or documentaries
Website development
Concerts or other entertainment events
Sports or athletic teams
Travel or organized field trips
Monuments or memorial related activities
Family reunions
Fundraising walks or runs
School Fundraisers
Beauty contests, fashion or hair shows

If your request meets the above criteria, please complete the following online form for consideration. Please note that requests submitted within 8 weeks of the event may automatically be denied. As a not for profit 501c(6) organization, our donation and sponsorship resources are limited. Due to the number of requests and limited availability of funds, a request may be denied even if it meets the selection criteria.
