2017 Portfolio Camp (Ages 16-18)

"Portfolio Camp helps high school students discover what it means to be enrolled at KCAD, a place where collaboration, innovation, and community engagement will prepare you and your talent to create lasting, meaningful impact through a career in art and design. Over the course of two weeks, become completely immersed in an artistic and cultural exploration that will change the way you think about your creative potential. Study both design drawing and fine art drawing. Dive into dynamic experiences like 3D printing, portfolio preparation, art theory, art journaling, research, open drawing, design challenges and 3-dimensional art. When you’re not working on art, you and your fellow campers will travel to Ambrose Design Camp or Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, or just kick back and have fun together at studio nights and social events.
Housing (optional): Off-campus housing is offered under the supervision of full-time Resident Advisors, who accompany students by shuttle bus or van to KCAD daily. Students will share rooms with other Portfolio Campers. The cost for the housing package--which includes transportation, supervision, use of kitchen facilities, and breakfast daily--is $1200.
