Hispanic Americans are not the homogenous group of people that the name suggests! People from Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and many other nations have settled here in Grand Rapids. Within each Latin American country, there are many ethnic groups and their religion and spirituality come in many flavors. Our special guest for this session is Professor Zulema Moret, a native-born Argentinean, and professor of culture and language at Grand Valley State University. Her multi-lingual gift allows her to interact with many of the rich cultures found in Western Michigan. This class will actively engage our eyes, ears and heart in this session of the American Spirituality Series.
Note: Please bring a few magazines to the session, with plenty of pictures that resonate with your culture and lifestyle.
