In this lecture, Br. Guy will help bridge scientific and religious understanding of the cosmos as he reflects on science and aesthetics in "Astronomy, God, and the Search for Elegance."

About the Speaker:
Brother Guy J. Consolmagno, S.J. is a leading American research astronomer, internationally renowned speaker, Jesuit brother, Director of the Vatican Observatory in Rome, and President of the Vatican Observatory Foundation.

Br. Guy, a native of Detroit, earned his Ph.D. in Planetary Science from the University of Arizona in 1978. From 1978-80 he was a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at the Harvard College Observatory, and from 1980-83 he continued as a postdoc and lecturer at MIT.
