Becoming a Children's Book Illustrator Workshop
Discover from a professional illustrator how to take a manuscript and create illustrations that tell a story.
You will walk through how the illustrator is chosen to illustrate a book and the process of working with the author to create illustrations that best represent their work. View and discuss the work of illustrators like Lizabeth Zwerger, Trina Schart Human, and Wanda Gag, all of whom have a style all their own.
You'll learn about the ups and downs of freelance illustration, inspiration, and techniques that work during the process of illustrating a children's book. Finally, you'll explore ideas of your own, led by the instructor to discover your own voice and vision. In one day you'll become proficient in finding your own voice, style color, technique, and in the process of drawing and re-drawing a sketch to make it fit the story.
