On July 13, 4pm-11pm, we are hosting our re-branded, re-imagined street party. We are calling it “Creston. After Dark” and it’s going to be funky.
So what is it?
It is an evening long street party located on Plainfield Ave. NE. That’s right, we are shutting down Plainfield between Leonard and Grove to activate our community.
Through a funding increase, we are able to make this a larger, more exciting event. Our projected amount of attendees is 600-1000. Because of this, we have extended our resources to make a lot of cool things happen. Starting with a North Quarter, Creston beautification initiative, several mural artists have been commissioned by local businesses. Beginning in June, walk your dog, ride your bike, bus over to this area to watch artists in action. These artists will be located between Grove and Leonard on Plainfield. Alongside of Friends of Parks, volunteers will be working on cleaning and greening initiatives throughout this portion of the corridor.
Some things to look out for this year:
Outdoor Street Closure
20 Booth Artist Market
Beautification Initiative Completion
Local Business Market
Live music, AB & The Collective and more
Meet & Greet with Six Mural Artists
Local eats and food trucks
Lifesize games for kids and adults
Kids activities area with games, performances and prizes
