Gabrial Lundy, performing under the moniker Gabrial James, is a singer/songwriter/guitarist originally from Grand Rapids, MI and currently residing in Spring Lake, MI. He has been playing the guitar since the age of fourteen and singing since the age of eight. Gabrial received formal vocal training at St. Cecilia Music Society of Grand Rapids from 1985-1988 under renowned conductor and professor of music, Anton Armstrong. Since then, he has aspired to make music his living. He got his start while hosting one of the longest running open mic nights in Michigan at Billy’s Lounge in Grand Rapids. Lundy hosted the open mic night from 2003-2010.
You can find Gabe playing all over West Michigan most nights of the week. He incorporates his own style into every song he performs, whether it's a well-known cover song, or one of his beautifully crafted originals. Musically, he incorporates folk, soul, adult contemporary, and other elements that are hard to define in terms of genre. You might say he is a shape-shifter of sorts, sprinkling in his smooth touch on tunes that will make you sit up and pay attention.
