The Gazelle Girl Half Marathon is back for its fifth year April 23, 2017. The event is designed to honor women, enhance partnerships within the community, raise money for women’s charities, and to encourage new runners to participate in the sport.
Please consider helping us either during the Expotique April 22 or on race day April 23. To learn about the various positions, please visit the website at gazellegirlhalfmarathon.com. Just click on the “get registered” box, then choose “volunteer” on the left side.
Duties include gear check, finish line, Saturday set up, or registration. A great option for enthusiastic folks is the course marshal position. Not only are you empowered to stop traffic, but you give a boost to the runners as you offer them a cheer on their way by.
As a volunteer, you’ll accomplish more than simply supporting female athletes. The Gazelle Girl Half Marathon is proud to be part of the Zero Waste solution. Being a zero waste event means diverting at least 90% of the overall waste from a landfill. Gazelle Girl achieves this by reducing, reusing, recycling, composting, and donating items from race day. Plus, every year 100% of the proceeds from the event benefit our charity partners. Thanks to the support of all of our fantastic volunteers, athletes, sponsors, and fans.
