Grand Rapids Greatest Generation Day Celebration

The Grand Rapids Greatest Generation Day Committee is excited to announce two-day celebration honoring the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II. In September 2, 1945, with the Proclamation Signing of the Declaration aboard the U.S. Navy battleship the USS Missouri, World War II was officially over.

Location: Various Senior Community Centers

“In Memoriam Remembrance and Bell Ringing”
Guest Speaker: Jim DeFelice, Co-Author of “American Sniper” and “Every Man a Hero: A Memoir of D-Day”
Location: Ab-Nab-Awen Park

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2020 – 5:00 PM
B-17 Armed Services Flyover
“Their Stories Told, Honorary Procession, Proclamations, and Veteran Ceremony”
Guest Speaker: Chris Wallace, Journalist
Location: Eberhard Center, GVSU
