Mark your calendar for the Grand Rapids Latin American Film Festival (GRLAFF) coming up April 3-5, 2020! Winner of the 2018 Grandy for Outstanding Art Event (Judge’s Choice), GRLAFF is returning for a special season this year: our tenth anniversary.
During the first weekend in April, the Festival will flood the Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids with the sights, sounds, and flavors of Latin America. In the Peter Wege Auditorium, over the course of three days the Festival will showcase eight feature-length films that the organizers have selected from different Latin American countries. Several of the feature films this year will also be followed by panel discussions with local experts on themes brought to light in the films. Click here for more information about all the films.
We will soon post more information about our guest directors.
In response to popular demand, the Festival has expanded its family-friendly offerings to both Saturday and Sunday. As in previous years, the Festival will present an animated film and will host a series of live puppet shows in the Koning Micro-Cinema.
As always, the Festival is free for everyone in the community. This is made possible by the generous support of GRLAFF partners and sponsors, as well as donations from the public. You can make a suggested $5.00 donation in person at the Festival.
We will post the film schedule soon. Be sure to look over it to plan your visit and follow the Festival on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for updates, using the handle @GRLAFF and the hashtag #GRLAFF2020.
