Grand Rapids Symphony’s The Baroque Concert: Charlie’s Angels
The Grand Rapids Symphony opens its 2017-18 Great Eras series with “The Baroque Concert: Charlie’s Angels,” the first of four programs in its Crowe Horwath Great Eras series. Hear sacred music of Purcell, Locke and Lully composed for the court of King Charles II of England at 8 p.m. Friday, October 20. Guest conductor Garry Clarke will lead the Grand Rapids Symphony for the evening of 17th and 18th century English music in St. Cecilia Music Center, 24 Ransom Ave. NE.
Highlights of the evening concert will be presented that morning for the Grand Rapids Symphony’s Porter Hills Coffee Classics series. The one-hour concert, held without intermission, begins at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. for complementary coffee and pastry.
