Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra: Ode to Joy

View Map

To complete our summer Centennial Celebration, while honoring the KSO's 100th anniversary year, Music Director Julian Kuerti will recreate an historic program that the KSO first performed in 1962. Opening with Aaron Copland’s majestic Fanfare for the Common Man, we will treat you to the breathtaking "Coronation Scene" from Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov. Then, we will devote the second half of the concert to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Featuring the Ode to Joy, performed by guest soloists and local singers along with the KSO, this work is inspiring and uplifting — celebrating all of humankind.
