At LowellArts, 223 W Main St, Lowell, MI 49331
When Checkers Morton formed in 1972, they played only "Free Jazz" inspired by the music of John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Miles Davis and the like. There were no tunes, key, time signatures, or any other agreements… "just play and let the music take you where it wants to go" was the rule. It still is.
While listening to music, enjoy the exhibition that is on display.
