Pickling & Fermenting

This cooking class will be a delight for foodies and nutrition advocates alike! Join us on Saturday, August 18 as we learn about tried and true methods of food preservation and the health benefits of consuming naturally probiotic foods. This make-and-take cooking class will be fun, lighthearted, and delicious!

Workshops are open to 20 participants each month, and are $12 for general public and $4 for Museum members. This class includes admission to the Grand Rapids Maker Faire.

Urban Roots
Urban Roots is a Community Farm, Market, and Education Center. We are a group of educators and locally minded place-makers who work to connect people to the soil and to the table. We believe that urban agriculture can simultaneously address food justice, unemployment, and urban community wellbeing, making Grand Rapids a more resilient place. Urban Roots works with our partners to grow thriving and productive community based gardens where the harvest is not only food, but also true community, education, and empowerment.
