Pints for Pits by Pet Tales Rescue is a family and pet-friendly fundraiser/community awareness event being put together by Pet Tales Rescue, and hosted by Grand Rapids Harley Davidson on May 19th.
Once again, Grand Rapids Harley Davidson is generously partnering with us to raise necessary funds for our rescue efforts, as well as standing behind us in our belief that pit bulls and "pit bull types" are dogs; just like a labrador is a dog, a shihtzu is a dog, or a golden retriever is a dog. All of which make wonderful family members, all of which are deserving members of society that add joy and value to people’s lives, and all of which are a reflection of their upbringing.
We are an all-breed rescue, but we feel that pit bulls and pit mixes face more negative stereotypes and misconceptions than other breeds do. Because of this, they are the ones that are most in need of our help. So, throw back some pints, and benefit the pits at this dog-friendly event!
There will be games for dogs as well as people (outdoor jenga and cornhole), a surprise for the first 100 people in the door (to be announced!), music, Pick-A-Prize Raffle, hotdogs/brats on the grill, craft beer and hard cider.
We will have use of a the same event space at Grand Rapids Harley Davidson as we did last year—it worked wonderfully for our needs! The space is towards the front of their building, across from the main entrance. It has two very large tents for shade along with ample grassy areas, picnic and high-top tables (This is the same area utilized for their bike nights). Guests will continue to have the ability to roam through the entire designated Pints for Pits area with their pint. FREE parking!
Tickets are 15.00 at the door (NO online pre-sale this year). T-shirts as well as some new rescue swag will be available for purchase the day of the event.
The ticket price includes entrance to the event in addition to your first beer. You will be given a wrist band at registration giving you the option to purchase three additional drinks at regular price.
Anyone 20 and younger will be $5 at the door and the $5 will include event admittance and a bottled water (ID will be verified prior to entrance). Little ones under 2 years old are free.
