Sew What? is a short documentary on the Caregivers Sewing Group, a group of elderly women who meet every Friday here in Grand Rapids to sew clothes for children in foster care. They donate the clothes to DA Blodgett-St. John’s. This heartwarming story about their skills, friendship and compassion has been an official selection of the VOB Film Festival in Carmel, New York and the Knoxville Film Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee. The film was produced by Salvatore Alaimo, Associate Professor in the School of Public, Nonprofit and Health Administration at Grand Valley State University. Admission includes hors d'oeuvres, screening and Q&A/Meet and Greet with the ladies.
