STORY COLLECTIVE: A NIGHT FOR FREEDOM will be on February 25th at 6:15pm at the Lit. GR and curates an artistic gathering that supports the work to create a future free from human trafficking. The ticketed event will include happy hour with local food vendors and drinks before the live art experience. Tickets are on sale for $45 until Feb. 1st and will increase to $55 after that date.
STORY COLLECTIVE will gather community members to showcase a new art exhibition by Pamela Alderman, The Red Jean Redemption Project, an art experience which gives voice to survivors of exploitation. The red jeans display anonymous stories from survivors. Together that night we will learn, listen to talented musicians and participate in a live art response to the problem of exploitation. Survivor’s stories will be shared to increase our community’s understanding of the complexity of human trafficking. We bring to light the prevalence of the human trafficking in our community and the important role each person and organization has in being a part of the solution to end exploitation. The small, daily actions done by individuals, combined with the actions of businesses, community, and organizations coalesce to make up the larger, bold movement of prevention, decreasing demand and providing care for survivors.
