"Superior" Film Screening with Filmmaker Q&A

The independent feature film "Superior" is returning to Wealthy Theatre and playing on the big screen in Grand Rapids for one night only before being released to VOD on Friday, September 2nd.
Writer/Director/Producer Edd Benda will be in attendance to present the film and host a Q&A following the screening.

During the height of the Vietnam War in 1969, Charlie is on his way to Michigan Tech University, and Derek is counting the days to his inevitable military draft eligibility. Before their futures take hold, the lifelong best friends embark on one final adventure: a 1300 mile bike ride along the shores of the gargantuan Lake Superior. With two-speed Schwinn bicycles and limited preparation, Charlie and Derek pedal through the massive northern backwoods of Michigan, Minnesota, and Canada. Along the way they face hunger, exhaustion, and the kind of people in the world who never wanted to be found.

Edd Benda Bio
The Birmingham, Michigan native Edd Benda has spent time living in Germany, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Florida, Colorado, and most recently California. Edd attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts where he focused on directing under instruction from notable directors Barnet Kellman, Peter Sollett, and Jennifer Warren among many others before graduating in 2013. Edd comes from a massive midwestern family, and he found his calling as a filmmaker around the family dining room table where storytelling reigned supreme. Edd recently wrote, directed, and produced the acclaimed feature film Superior. When not writing or filming, Edd can most likely be found at the nearest ice rink fighting for space at the top of the crease while trying not to get any more teeth knocked out.
