Wagoosh: The Fox, Louis Campau

Louis Campau, a 19th century fur trader, is credited as the founder of Grand Rapids. Born in Detroit, Campau was known for being a wily, shrewd trader, earning him the nickname “The Fox.” Maureen Shirey, a local history enthusiast and aspiring author, will share her findings on the character of Louis Campau and the making of his legend in the earliest years of Grand Rapids.
