Women Trailblazers: Celebrating 100 Years of Women's Suffrage in Germany and the United States

Join us for a panel discussion with Q&A and a poster exhibition that highlight the milestones of women's suffrage in Germany and the United States (Germany:1918-2018) and (United States:1920-2020), while comparing the current state of women's rights and working lives in both countries. What differences are there? What do both countries have in common? What can they learn from one another? Panelists include Aquinas College history professor, Elizabeth Chamberlain; Aquinas College political science professor, Dr. Molly Patterson; Historian with GGRWHC Jo Ellyn Clarey; GPWA Detroit President Christina Griesser. The discussion will be moderated by Aquinas College JHWSC Director Dr. Amy Dunham Strand. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
