Commissioned by the Indian Sculpture Advisory Committee of elders from the Odawa, Ojibwa, and Potawatomi tribe, this sculpture represents the native people of this land.
The bronze statue of Nishnabe Gemaw stands on a boulder. He is depicted with his right hand raised in a gesture of peace, a peace pipe rests in in left hand, he wears Indian leggings, and his hair is braided with feathers at the back.
