Grand Rapids Symphony’s 2017 Picnic Pops opens with The Music of ABBA
D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops welcomes ARRIVAL from Sweden July 13-14

Grand Rapids Pops kicks off the 2017 D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops with The Music of ABBA and songs such as Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Gimme Gimme, Take a Chance on Me, and more on Thursday and Friday, July 13-14. The popular ABBA tribute group ARRIVAL from Sweden crosses the Atlantic Ocean to sing the music of the Swedish super group, led by Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt.

With 22 years on the road, Arrival truly embodies the personality and sound of the ABBA itself, right down to their authentic costumes.
Gates open at 5:45 p.m. at Cannonsburg Ski Area for picnicking and pre-concert entertainment with Kathy LaMar and Bob VanStee.

About the Grand Rapids Symphony: 
Organized in 1930, the Grand Rapids Symphony is nationally recognized for the quality of its concerts and educational programs. Led by Music Director Marcelo Lehninger, Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt and Associate Conductor John Varineau, nine concert series are presented, featuring a wide range of music and performance styles. More than 400 performances are given each year, touching the lives of some 200,000, nearly half of whom are students, senior citizens and people with disabilities all reached through extensive education and community service programs.
